  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a four-day state visit to Palestine, Oman and the UAE  during which he will hold talks with the leadership in the countries on "matters of mutual interest"
  • India contributed additional 1 million dollar to India-UN Development Partnership Fund, earmarked for South-South cooperation to intensify its partnerships with other developing countries in the south.

  • Maldives  President Abdulla Yameen declared a 15-day state of emergency in the island nation after Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed and Judge Ali Hameed were arrested.

  • India successfully test-fired its short-range nuclear capable surface-to-surface  ballistic missile Agni-I with a strike range of over 700 km. 
  • US Air Force Chief of Staff General David L Goldfein flew the Indian Air Force's indigenous fighter aircraft Tejas from Air Force station in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.

  • The Assam government and cab aggregator Ola entered into a memorandum of understanding to pilot an app-based river taxi service in Guwahati.
  • Sweden has singed Strategic Partnership Agreement with United Nations for committing record 370 million dollars to UN World Food Programme.
