SBI Clerk 2018: Exams Pattern and Syllabus

State Bank of India releases the official notification for the recruitment of junior agricultural associates/junior associates in the month of April for the year 2018-2019. SBI Clerk is comparatively easy to that of the clerk exam and so has a huge demand among candidates. However, SBI clerk is quite difficult to that of other Clerk exams. Today we are here to discuss everything about SBI Clerk 2018. Let's start with the exam pattern.
SBI Clerk 2018 New Exam Pattern 
Candidates willing to appear for SBI Clerk 2018 will have to go through three phases. i.e. Tier 1 (Prelims) , Tier 2 (Mains Examinations). In SBI Clerk No interview or GD.
Preliminary Examination - Tier 1
The online preliminary examination is the first phase which will be held for one hour. The paper will consist of 100 multiple choice questions each of 1 marks.
Candidates will have to select one correct answer from the given options.  There is negative marking scheme so for  every wrong answer 0.25 will be deducted from the total marks.
The paper will have 3 sections:
  • English Language-30 Questions-30 marks
  • Quantitative Aptitude-35 Questions-35 marks
  • Reasoning Ability -35 Questions-35 marks

Those candidates who will be able to secure sectional as well as overall cutoffs in the prelims can sit for the mains examination.
Main Examination  - Tier 2
The main examination will be an online examination of 200 marks. The objective examination will have sectional timing along with sectional cut off. Candidates can secure 1 marks for every correct answer and 0.25 will be deducted from the total for every wrong answer. The paper consists of 190 questions of 200 marks and the total time duration is 2 hours 40 minutes.
This paper will consist of 4 sections:
  • Reasoning and Computer Aptitude - 50 questions-60 marks-45 minutes
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation - 40 questions-40 marks-35 minutes
  • General Awareness - 50 questions - 50 marks-35 minutes
  • English Language -40 questions - 40 marks-35 minutes

The marks obtained in the main examination will be considered for shortlisting of final candidates.

General Awareness and Banking 
SBI-Clerk-2018-Eligibility-Criteria 
  • The eligibility criteria for the Clerk exam 2018 is graduation in any of the streams such as B.A, B.Com, BSC, Btech, etc from a University recognized by the Government of India. 
  • The eligibility criteria for junior agricultural associates is graduation in agriculture or agriculture related activities.
  • The age of applicants should be between 20 to 28 years.
  • Candidates should have basic computer knowledge along with state language proficiency. 
  •  The Application fee for Clerk is 600/- for General and 100/- for SC/ST/PWD. 
  • The probation period after joining would be of 6 months from the date of joining.
