Solution

Ans.1 –c.
Hints: let C.P. of the Cow is Rs. x.
20% of X – 10% of (6000-x) = 2% of 6000
X= Rs. 2400.

Ans.2 – c
Let C.P = Rs. X
Then, 840 – X=2(X-420)
X = 560
Required S.P. = (560 * 125)/100 = 700

Ans.3 – d
Let the original price of the jewellery be Rs.P & the profit earned by Amit be X%.
Then, (100 + X)% of 125 % of 120% of P=180% of P
X=20%

Ans.4 –a
Means cost price= 100 * 91/130 = 70
Required ratio= (100 – 70): (70 – 60)
3: 1

Ans.5 – c
Let Ashok and Bikash complete the work in X hrs.
1/(X+12) + 1/(X + 3) = 1 / X
X=6 hrs.

Ans.6 – b
Let total profit=X
Then 30% of X = 96000
X= 320000
Let the capital of Amal, Bhupal & Rajesh be 3X,4X and 6X.
Then, (3X *12) + (4X *12) +(6X * 6) = 320000 * 12
X=32000
Rajesh investment = 6X= 32000 * 6= 192000

Ans.7 – a
Let the tank be filled by pipe P alone in X hrs.
Then pipe Q will fill it in (X + 6)
1/X + 1/ (X+6) = 1 /4
X=6

Ans.8 – b
Total spent = 80000+2000+2000 = 84000
Sells price = (84000 * 130)/100 = 109200

Ans.9 – a).
Let the required distance be X km.
Difference in the times taken at two Speeds = 12 min = 1/5 hr.
Then, X/5 – X/6 = 1/5
X = 6 km.

Ans.10 – e.
Hints: Let correct answer be =x.
4x – (60 – x) = 130
X = 38

Ans.11 –c.
Add 12, 22, 32, 42, 52, and 62. So 61 is wrong.

Ans.12 –d
Go on adding 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20.

Ans.13 –b
2nd term = (1st term * 2 – 2)
3rd term =(2nd term * 3 – 2)
4th term = (3rd term * 4 – 2) and so on.
Hence 61 is wrong.

Ans.14 –e.
2nd term = 1st term + 22
3rd term = 2nd term + 33
4th term = 3rd term + 42
5th term = 4th term + 52 and so on.
Hence 105 is wrong.

Ans. 15 – d.
Go on multiplying 2 and adding 1 to get the next number.
