MUKTIJODDHA SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME for Bangladeshi Students

Introduction:
The Government of India is offering for "Muktijoddha Scholarship Scheme" to Bangladeshi Students for the academic year 2016-2017. Under Muktijoddha Scholarship programme, India distributes scholarship to 800 Bangladeshi students. This Scholarship will be conferred for pursuing undergraduate programme at a recognized institute in Bangladesh. Indian High Commission awarded scholarships to the children of freedom fighters (FFs) under its ‘Muktijoddha Scholarship Scheme’ in the port city on November 2015. The scholarships were given of at Dhaka by Minister for Liberation War Affairs in the presence of Harsh Vardhan Sringla, Indian High Commissioner.
The scholarship programme was launched by India in 2006, to nourish the international bonds between the two countries ever since the wining of the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971 against Pakistan. This is an Undergraduate Program Merit Based Scholarship and students are eligible from Bangladeshi Students (Descendants of Muktijoddhas) to apply for the same. Only few such award is being offered and the deadline for application is 30-Nov-15.

To help descendants of Muktijoddhas, who are pursuing Second to Fourth year of Undergraduate studies in Bangladesh;
- Under Muktijoddha Scholarship programme, India distributes scholarship to 800 Bangladeshi students. As of now 9500 students have been benefited from the scheme and more than 130 million takas have been distributed to the students so far.
- Under the scholarship programme, the students who fall in line of freedom fighters get selected on merit basis to pursue undergraduate studies.
- Average Family Income less than Tk.15, 000/- per month
- Those students who have already received scholarship in the previous year need to re-apply along with proof of having passed the previous academic year with acceptable GPA.
- Male students who have secured GPA 3.25 and above and Female students who have secured GPA 3 and above and have obtained admission in a recognized institute for continued study.
