Solution
1.Let the money of A, B, C and D be 5x, 3x, 8x and 9x respectively.
   Then, 5x  ̶  3x = 3700
             Or, 2x = 3700
               Or, x = 3700/2 = 1850
   Amount of C and D together = 8x + 9x
                                                  = 17x = 17 × 1850
                                                  = Rs.31450

2.Total amount spent by Dinesh = (100  ̶  30) = 70% of the total
   Now, 70% of the total = 91290 + 48710 = 1,40,000
   So, 100% of the total = (140000/70) × 100
                                      = 200000

3.Let the four consecutive even numbers be x, x+2, x+4 and x+6
   According to the question,
            x + (x+2) + (x+4) + (x+6) = 63 + [{x + (x+2) + (x+4) + (x+6)} ÷ 4]
              or, 4x + 12 = 63 + [(4x+12)/4]
              or, 4x + 12 = 63 + x + 3
              or, 4x  ̶  x = 63 + 3  ̶  12
              or, 3x = 54
              or, x = 18
   So, the third largest no. = x + 2 = 18 + 2 = 20

4.Let the present age of the son be x years, then Raman’s age will be 2x years.
   Now, 6 years hence, son’s age = ( x + 6 ) years and Raman’s age = (2x + 6) years
   Then, (2x + 6)/(x + 6) = 23/13
       Or, 26x + 78 = 23x + 138
       Or, 3x = 60
       Or, x = 20
   So, Son’s present age = 20 years.

5.Let the length and breadth be 8x metres and 7x metres respectively.
   Then, perimeter = 2(8x + 7x) = 30x
   Now, 30x = 375
          Or, x = 12.5
   So, Length = 8x = 8 × 12.5 = 100 metres and Breadth = 7x = 7 × 12.5 = 87.5 metres
   So, area of the plot = 100 × 87.5 = 8750 sq.m

6.Let the cost price be Rs.100 and SP be Rs.130.
   Now, new cost price = 78 and new selling price = 110% of 78 = 85.80
   So, difference of SP = 130  ̶  85.80 = Rs.44.2
   At Rs.44.2, difference of CP = Rs.100
   At Rs.884, CP = (100/44.2) × 884 = Rs.2000

7.Total CP = 1200 × 1.40 = Rs.1680
   Expected SP = 900 × x = 1680 × 1.15 = Rs.1932
   So, x = 2.15
   Now the real SP = 2.15 × 975 ≈ Rs.2093
   So, profit = 2093  ̶  1680 = 413
   So, profit% = (413/1680) × 100 = 24.58%

8.Income = Expenditure + Savings
   Now, 8x = 5x + 3x, 10x = 9x + x
   Now, the deficit = 3x  ̶  x = 2x
    Then, 2x = 4236
          Or, x = 2118
   New salary = 10x = 10 × 2118 = Rs.21180

9.C has to cover only 750m
   Total time taken by C = 100 + 25 = 125 seconds
   Therefore, speed of C = 750/125
                                       = 6m/s

10.The difference gets multiplied by 3 successively.
     The series is: 3
                           3 + 5 = 8
                           8 + 15 = 23
                         23 + 45 = 68
                       68 + 135 = 203
                     203 + 405 = 608,…

11.The series is: 12
                           12 × 0.5 = 6
                             6 × 1.0 = 6
                             6 × 1.5 = 9
                             9 × 2.0 = 18
                           18 × 2.5 = 45,…

12.The series is: 9 + (1 × 6) = 15
                         15 + (2 × 6) = 15 + 12 = 27
                         27 + (3 × 6) = 27 + 18 = 45
                         45 + (4 × 6) = 45 + 24 = 69
                         69 + (5 × 6) = 69 + 30 = 99
                         99 + (6 × 6) = 99 + 36 = 135,…
