  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched what is billed as the world's largest government-funded healthcare programme - the Ayushman Bharat, which would benefit 50 crore Indians.He launched the program in Ranchi.

  • The New Development Bank (NDB) of the BRICS countries has approved a $525-million loan to Madhya Pradesh for infrastructure projects.

  • State-run telecom firm BSNL has inked a pact with Japan’s Softbank and NTT Communications to roll out 5G and internet of things (IoT) technology in India.BSNL will look at collaborating with Softbank for its satellite constellation which will have around 900 satellites.

  • Opposition leader Ibrahim Mohamed Solih won the Maldives' presidential election, results showed Monday, a surprise defeat for President Abdulla Yameen following a campaign observers said was rigged in the strongman's favour.

  • India successfully conducted an interceptor missile'Prithvi' test off the Odisha coast on Sunday.

  • Andhra Pradesh has topped the charts among States in terms of “Ease of Living Index” rankings launched by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).  It was followed by Odisha and Madhya Pradesh.The three States were awarded the three best performing States under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).
