  • Reliance Industries on Thursday became the first company to cross Rs 8 trillion in terms of market capitalisation (market-cap), becoming the country's most valued firm.RIL's market capitalisation (m-cap) stood at Rs 8.01 trillion. The stock ended at Rs 1,266.90 on the NSE, up 1.6%, extending its gains over the past four trading days.

  • In the Forbes list of World's highest paid actors George Clooney emerged at the top followed by Dwayne Johnson and Robert Downey Junior.Bollywood actor Mr. Akshay Kumar has made it to the seventh rank while Salman Khan made it in 9th rank.

  • Former England Captain David Beckham will receive the UEFA President's award for his contribution to football and promoting the sport in "every corner of the planet".David Beckham has become the third Englishman to receive the UEFA President's award.

Obituary:
  • Veteran journalist and former Rajya Sabha member Kuldip Nayar passed away at 12.30 a.m. on Thursday after a brief illness. He was 95.mr.Nayar was known for his stand against the Indira Gandhi government during the Emergency as the editor of popular News daily The Statesman.
