Explanation 1. The "Zero Hunger Program" is launched in Gorakhpur of Uttar Pradesh, Koraput of Orissa and Thane of Maharashtra. The program would be initiated by ICAR, ICMR and BICAR on the World Food Day (16th Oct).

Explanation 2. National Aluminium Company, Hindustan Copper and MECL have signed a MoU to form joint venture Khanij Bidesh India. The proposed joint venture would identify, explore, process and develop strategic minerals overseas for the use commercially.

Explanation 3. Bollywood actor Akhshay Kumar is appointed as the Brand Ambassador of Swachh Bharat Mission in Uttarakhand by the Chief Minister of the state Trivendra Singh Rawat. The objectives of the mission are to eliminate open defecation by constructing cluster, public and individual toilets.
