Indroduction of NAMO e-Tablet Sahay Yojona-
This is the era of digitization. The education system of modern India is also dependent on the digital world. To provide help to the students in their studies the State Government of Gujarat has launched a new scheme named as NAMO e-Tablet Sahay Yojona. Under the scheme, the first year college and State University students would get the Tablet at a subsidized rate. The NAMO e-Tab stands for the “New Avenues of Modern Education through Tablets”. The scheme was launched by the Chief Minister of Gujarat Vijay Rupani in Ahmedabad.
Features of the NAMO e-Tablet Sahay Yojona-
- Approximately 3.5 Lakh College and University students of the state will receive the NAMO e-Tab by paying Rs. 1000 only.
- Under the scheme, all first year college students of the state will receive 7-inch long ‘NAMO E-Tab’ tablets. The market prices of these Tabs are approximately Rs 8,000 each.
- Students have to register themselves to avail the Tabs at subsidized rate. Those students, who are already registered, have received the Tablets in the launch ceremony of this scheme.
- These Tablets are made by reputed companies. The Government is also planning to add the voice calling facility to these tablets in future.
- The students of Gujarat, who have passed the 12th exam in 2017 and would take admission in various Polytechnic Colleges and Engineering Colleges of the state, can avail the benefits of the Scheme.
- 353 Free Tablets are given to the science stream students of socially and educationally backward classes of standard 12.
- They must secure 70% or more marks in the 12th Board exams.
- The students would also get the 1-year warranty on these Tablets backed by the service centers of the state.
- The tablets must be distributed in different parts of the state.
- The State Government has allocated Rs. 200 Crore to implement this scheme.
- Apart from that, the Gujrat Government will spend approximately Rs 30 Crore, which would be earned through distribution of these subsidized tablets, to build the digital infrastructure in the college campuses of the state.
- The campuses of the colleges must be Wi-Fi enabled. As well as, Digital Classrooms and E-Libraries would be set up in the colleges across the state.
Procedure to Apply for Free Tablets-
- The students have to register themselves to avail the benefit of the scheme. The entire registration process will be online.
- The scanned supporting documents like mark sheets must be uploaded to the Application Form. Along with that, Rs. 1000 must also be paid.
