NATIONAL:
- The Minister of State for Labour and Employment Shri Bandaru dattatreya has launched two schemes 'One IP-Two Dispensaries'and 'Aadhar based online claim Submission' on the occasion of International Labour day(1st May).
- Prakash Javadekar,the Union Human Resource Development has launched 'Students for Soldiers-a nationwide Vidya-Veerta Abhiyan '.The main aim of this scheme is to encourage Universities to display potraits of param Veer Chakra decorated soldiers and instill the sense of patriotism among the students.
- The Union Ministyr for defence Mr Arun Jaitley(additional charge)has handed over a number of devices developed by the DRDO to Delhi Police,Natonal Security Guard(NSG)and National Disaster Response Fund(NDRF).These devices include 'E-nashika',a Hand-held equipment which is capable of rapid detection of chemical agnts well below their toxic limits,"OTL-300",a device that detect partially camouflaged optical elements such as telescopes ,binoculars and night vision devices.
INTERNATIONAL:
- Dubai has become the first city in the world to get its own 'Microsoft Font'.The font is available in three styles 'Dubai','Dubai Medium'and 'Dubai Light'.The font was inaugurated by Sheikh hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Makltoum.
AWARDS:
- The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Chandrababu Naidu has been selected for the 'Transformative Chief Minister Award 2017',the recognition of his contribution in uphelding the US-India bilateral partnership.
APPOINTMENT:
- Soumen Ghosh has been appointed as the the MD of Bharti enterprises Financial services.
