Solution
1.CP of 30 kg of wheat = 30 × 45 = Rs.1350
Total SP for an overall profit of 25% = (1350 × 125)/100 = Rs.1687.5
SP of 12 kg of wheat = 12 × 50 = Rs.600 [12 kg = (30×40)/100]
Expected SP of 18 kg of remaining wheat = (1687.5 - 600) = Rs.1087.5
Required SP per kg = (1087.5/18) = Rs.60 (approx)

2.Total CP = Rs.(12000 + 10000) = Rs.22000
Total SP = Rs.[(12000×108)/100 + (10000×88)/100] = Rs.21760
Therefore loss = (22000 - 21760) = Rs.240

3.Commission on 1 calculator = (250 × 20)/100 = Rs.50
Commission on 1 pen = (50 × 10)/100 = Rs.5
Therefore, required amount of commission = Rs.3[(10×50) + (5×5)] = Rs.1575

4.Total cost of the TV set = Rs.(11250 + 150 + 800) = Rs.12200
Required SP = (12200 × 115)/100 = Rs.14,030

5.According to the question, SP = Rs.[6500 - (6500×5)/100] = Rs.6175
Therefore, CP = (6175 × 85)/100 = Rs.5350 (approx)

6.Let the loan amount be Rs.x.
now, (x×6×1)/100 + (x×7.5×1)/100 + (x×9×1)/100 = 8190
or, x = (8190 × 100)/22.5 = Rs.36400

7.According to the question,
1 man = 2 women
Therefore, 8 men + 4 women = (16+4) women = 20 women
4 men + 8 women = 16 women
20 women's 2 days' work = 2/6 = 1/3
Remaining work = (1 - 1/3) = 2/3
20 women complete 1 work in 6 days
Therefore, 16 women will do 2/3 work in = (20 × 6/16 × 2/3) = 5 days

8.(M1D1)/W1 = (M2D2)/W2
or, (6 × 6)/W1 = (9 × 10)/1
or, W1 = 2/5
Therefore, part of work done by 6 women in 6 days = 2/5
Therefore, part of work done by 6 men in 6 days = (1 - 2/5) = 3/5
(M1D1)/W1 = (M2D2)/W2
or, (6 × 6)/(3/5) = (15 × D2)/1
or, D2 = 4 days

9.Let the required distance be x km.
According to the question,
(x/40) - (x/45) = 1
or, (9x - 8x)/360 = 1
or, x = 360 kms.

10.Speed of the bus = 480/8 = 60 kmph
Therefore, speed of the train = 60 × 4/3 = 80 kmph
Now, speed of the car = 15/16 × 80 = 75 kmph
Therefore, required distance = (75 × 6) = 450 km.
